Celtro Presents its IP backhaul payload Compression over native Ethernet or IP link

CELTRO Communications (2012) LTD, a pioneer and leading global supplier of creative compression solutions for mobile backhauling, announced today, the release of its new capability to encapsulate compressed 2G/3G traffic over native Ethernet links or IP data networks. Offering TDM ABIS or IP traffic compression convergence over native Ethernet or IP data networks is paving operator road to efficient use of transmission resources. Mobile operators modernized their MW radio network, replacing old PDH links with brand new high capacity hybrid links, are using the TDM MW matrix to convey TDM traffic e.g. TDM Abis, 3G ATM and the Ethernet switch to pass Eth/IP traffic. With celtro solution, compressed TDM / IP traffic can now be encapsulated over the native Ethernet part of MW radio links using the Ethernet switch instead of TDM matrix. Based on the statistical gain achieved in IP networks compered to fix TDM; MW radio ACM (adaptive code modulation) functionality and Celtro's compression gain, operators can enjoy increased throughput over existing infrastructure, while improving users' Quality of Experience (QoE), and reducing the need for costly network capacity expansions.

Celtro's new feature was designed as a comprehensive solution that addresses QOS, performance and statistical reports. Celtro mindful was to improve backhaul QOS using traffic shaping techniques such as packet prioritization, classification rules and queuing at congestion points while setting new performance counters for clear visibility into all quality aspects of high-speed networks.

Celtro's data compression, algorithm is Celtro's intellectual property (patent pending). Celtro is offering a book-ended solution; once the traffic is compress it would requires extensively less transmission bandwidth then what it would needed before the compression. At the receiver side the decompression action will reproduce an identical traffic to the original source. Celtro's compression platform provides bit exact, lossless data compression.
